The Classic Carlectables 1:18 Chrysler Valiant VH Charger R/T E49 celebrates one of the most legendary Australian performance cars of the 1970s, beautifully finished in Vintage Red and representing the highly sought-after E49 "Small Tank" specification.
Released in 1972, the E49 represented the ultimate development of Chrysler Australia's six-cylinder Charger. At its heart was the formidable 265ci Hemi six-cylinder engine, producing a claimed 302 horsepower and breathing through triple Weber 45DCOE carburettors. Combined with the four-speed Borg Warner manual gearbox, the E49 earned a formidable reputation as one of Australia's great muscle cars.
Only 149 E49 R/T Chargers were originally produced, helping make the E49 one of the most desirable Australian-built Chrysler performance cars today. Its combination of lightweight Charger bodywork, competition-developed mechanical package and distinctive R/T styling has cemented its place in Australian motoring history.
Classic Carlectables has recreated the E49 in impressive 1:18 scale, with the Vintage Red exterior complemented by authentic R/T detailing, red-wall tyres and distinctive ROH W35-style alloy wheels.
Opening panels reveal an extensively detailed interior, engine bay and luggage compartment. Under the bonnet sits a detailed recreation of the legendary 265ci Hemi six, complete with triple Weber carburettors and etched-metal air intake details.
Inside, the model features detailed vinyl seating, tilting front seats, fabric seatbelts with chrome buckles, comprehensive dashboard instrumentation and a three-spoke steering wheel. Even the windows incorporate working winders for additional realism.
The detail continues underneath, with operational front suspension, poseable steering and a rear drivetrain designed so the tailshaft rotates with the rear wheels.
