The Ford XE Falcon ESP marked a more polished direction for Ford’s performance offerings in Australia, arriving during a period when buyers were beginning to favour refinement over outright muscle. Launched in 1982, the ESP (European Sports Pack) built on the groundwork established by the XD series, further developing the Falcon’s blend of comfort and dynamic capability. Derived from the Fairmont Ghia, it introduced upgrades such as coil spring rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and distinctive “Snowflake” alloy wheels that differentiated it visually from earlier models. Additional features, including options like the Philips Premium Sound System, reinforced its move toward a more modern, well-equipped performance sedan powered by the proven V8.
The Falcon’s broader legacy in Australia remains one of the most influential in the country’s automotive landscape. Since its arrival in 1960, it evolved into a vehicle uniquely suited to local conditions, earning widespread trust across generations. Equally at home as a family car or a motorsport contender, the Falcon developed a strong reputation for durability and performance. By the early 1980s, tightening regulations and changing market demands signalled the decline of V8-powered models, with the XE widely regarded as the final chapter of that era—until the engine’s return in the EB Falcon years later.
This 1:18 scale replica is planned in the classic Silver Grey over Charcoal colour scheme and will be produced as a highly detailed die-cast model. It will feature multiple opening components, including the bonnet, all four doors, and the boot, allowing for a comprehensive display experience.
Inside, the cabin has been carefully recreated with accurate trim detailing, visible through the clear molded windows or by opening the doors. Lifting the bonnet reveals a detailed 5.8L (351ci) Cleveland V8 along with a faithfully represented engine bay, while the underside showcases a fully realised floorpan.
Made up of more than 200 individual components using a combination of metal and plastic, and finished through multiple stages of paint and decoration, this model is designed as a premium collectible for enthusiasts of the Falcon nameplate.
Each piece will be released as part of a strictly limited production run and will include an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity, housed in an Authentic Collectables branded protective folder.
Reflecting the understated styling and road presence of the XE ESP, this model pays tribute to a transitional period in Australian automotive history—where comfort, technology, and performance began to converge. With limited availability, once sold out, no further production will follow.
