Up for sale is a Classic Carlectables 1:18 of Peter Brock & Jim Richards Holden LX A9X Torana that was used to win the 1978 James Hardie Bathurst 1000.
The Holden Dealer Team made a dramatic return in 1978. With the full backing of GMH, the Bathurst race wass a resounding citory for the team and A9X Torana.
Brock gained pole position in the shoot out, but had a poor start when his differential failed to lock. He fought back and by lap 34 was leading the pack at a cracking pace.
A litany of problems to others ultimately left the run clear for the Brock / Richards team, they had the race by the throat. When the flag fell on the tattered field, the Marlboro Holden Dealer Team had won Bathurst and by a full lap ahead of Allan Grice's A9X.
